Michelle Holtze & Gary Berquist Win 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze!
North Star's co-founder, Michelle Holtze (see picture) and a long time member,
Gary Berquist, competed at the USA Judo
Senior Nationals held April 20 – April
22, 2006 in Houston, Texas. They
competed
in kata (forms demonstration with a partner) and Master’s shiai (match
competition for players by age groups over 30). Michelle entered four kata and
captured two Bronze and one Silver medal. Gary, in the 60 to 65 year old
division, threw two opponents with two different full point throws (instant
victory) to achieve his Gold medal victory, in classic judo style.

You may stop by as many times as you like to watch classes. You may also participate in one free class in each program that we offer. You will find both our instructors and the other members to be friendly, informative, and supportive.
