Warrior's Cove
Competition Team Striking Tournament
September 11th, 2005

Fox, Michel, Iallanardo, Grcevich, Arnebeck, Plaszcz, Reed-Taylor, Rivera
Mohr, Grindle, Mondragon, Sjoquist, Goben

This was our Competition Team's first Striking Tournament with special rules designed to simulate reality striking while still maintaining safety. Striking included (but was not limited to) kicks to the legs and clinching, important reality based techniques that are not found in nearly all Karate, Tae Kwon Do and other striking style based competitions. Congratulations to ALL the Team members for their professional performance! Special recognition to Bob Plaszcz, Geoff Gercevich and Tom Mondragon for displaying honor in competition by calling successful strikes that their opponents landed in competition! A great demonstration of honesty and good sportsmanship!

1st Place - Kenny Reed-Taylor
2nd Place - Robert Plaszcz
3rd Place - Geoff Grcevich

Please note that the following video clips are highlights of our competition training in standing strikes, and are not indicative of our normal - lower intensity - classroom training. Students are never required to free form grapple, spar, or fight until they feel ready to do so after adequate classroom technique training. There are numerous safeguards in place to maintain a healthy balance between realism and safety for all students at the Warrior's Cove, beginner to expert levels. Please read the Testimonials section of this website for more information on our safe and yet realistic training!
